Welcome to

    BlackDraft Miniature Horses and Shetland Ponies is located in southern California.  My passion for the small equine began, with all things, a black draft horse.  I love driving even more than riding.  My only goal at the time was to learn to drive teams, and I had set out to find another draft horse when I saw someone driving a miniature horse.  I decided that miniature horses would be a lot easier to keep, so I made the switch and "downsized" to smaller equine.

I started out with a pair of pet-quality miniature horses before discovering that I wanted to try my hand in the show ring... and ended up winning many National titles with my horses.  My love of a beautiful driving horse led me to the admiration of the Modern Shetland Pony, a high-stepping pony with Hackney background.  I enjoy showing my horses and ponies both locally and at the National level, and I also enjoy sharing my experience and advice with those who would like to learn more about them.  Please explore this website to learn more about what I have to share with you.
